Ecclesiastes 1:11-13

¹¹There is no remembrance of those who^[a] came before;^(A)
and of those who will come after
there will also be no remembrance
by those who follow them.

The Limitations of Wisdom

¹²I, the Teacher,^(B) have been^[b] king over Israel in Jerusalem. ¹³I applied my mind to examine^(C) and explore through wisdom all that is done under heaven.^(D) God has given people^[c] this miserable task to keep them occupied.^(E)
